It was 2005 and I had just left Akuna Care with my two dogs who had just experienced two weeks at Akuna Care sitting next to me in the front of our van.
Imagine us driving down the road just a short distance. Meg had her head out the window enjoying the breeze and Lizzie our dachshund cross sitting next to me.
It all seemed fine until suddenly Lizzie decided she didn't want to leave Akuna and jumped over me straight out the window.
I had no time to react. All I could do was watch her roll and tumble down the road and with great relief watch as she got to her feet and walked towards me. She had hurt her knee and needed an operation but soon recovered so as to get into more mischief.
When we returned to Akuna Care in 2006 I definitely made sure I had the windows up on the drive back home.
