Why you first choose Akuna Care?

Referred to by colleagues and we were very happy with the openness you exercised during the inspection. It was a refreshing change from earlier (unhappy experiences!) at kennels closer to Sydney.

Why you continued to use our service?

Inspection tour, meeting with you and knowledge that 'Donna' would be properly cared for. The pick-up and delivery service in Sydney is excellent. All the staff we've met have been extremely friendly and all left us with the impression that 'Donna' would be well looked after.

What is your favourite story?

Whether or not it's because 'Donna' knows we rescued her from 'death row' at the SPCA in Sydney - she has become very attached to us and goes out of her way to please us (it seems like!) and protect us. She had settled well at our home on the Northern Beaches near Sydney, loved to jump on the rocks and run in the sand, and had established close friendships with neighbours' dogs. Therefore, it was with some trepidation we approached the moment late last November, when we had to leave lovely Australia to move to Provence in France. It was tough enough for 'Donna' to be locked into your delivery van so how would she cope with being locked in a small air-carrier cage for the 25-hour long flight from Sydney via Singapore to Copenhagen, our first stop in Europe? Well, the brave little girl stunned us all - not only did she have to cope with a sudden change of schedule (now a 3-leg flight via Singapore and New Delhi to Copenhagen lasting 34 hours) but she also left her customary 25-degrees warm Sydney on a sunny Wednesday afternoon, only to arrive on a grey, rainy and 3 degrees cold Thursday in Copenhagen - and to everybody's dismay was placed in an outside pen to contend with for five long hours till her daddy had managed to convince the quarantine officers that she was certainly not an Australian dingo. Her reaction when finally being united with us was indescribable and moving - leaving her parents grabbing for tissues! She is now settling into the colder climates in Europe but we feel certain that she'll one day thank us for choosing lovely southern France as our next home - rather than the colder option of Denmark.
